Media’s Bias in the Arab World

 

The College of Mass Communication and the General Education Department collaborated and organized a lecture on the topic of sports media. The lecture is part of Al Falah University’s goal to incorporate theoretical knowledge to practical application.

The lecture delivered by Mr. Azzedeen Al Kalawi covers the history of sports media in the Arab world and its development up to the current date.

Mr. Kalawi also explained the media’s bias and its lack of the essential characteristics that should portray media professionals: neutrality and ethics. He stated that at the level of the Arab world, some media professionals, analysts, and sports critics are biased and favors certain clubs against its competitor leading to fanaticism.

The question and answer segment is opened towards the end of the lecture for students and faculty members with inquiries. Dr. Khaled Heneidi, Dean of College of Mass Communication handed a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Al Kalawi for his lecture.
