College of Law students had an introductory visit to the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) Headquarters to attend a lecture by Chief Legal Officer, Dr. Yousef Ahmed Al-Tal on the role of the SCA in protecting shareholders of joint stock companies.
During the lecture which was organized specifically for AFU students, Dr. Al-Tal gave an overview of the role SCA plays in protecting investors by establishing the principles of fair dealings among various investors as well as developing investment awareness by conducting studies and exerting efforts in ensuring financial and economic stability.
Dr. Al-Tal gave a detailed presentation which includes the legislation and regulations relating to the licensing and registration of securities and SCA’s procedures in promoting the national capital market.
The speaker opened the floor for students with questions after the lecture. Students and representatives from Securities and Commodities Authority also took a commemorative photo afterward.
